Holiday parks look as if they will be as popular as ever in 2012 with record bookings.

Butlins are up 10 per cent on last year with a whopping 319,532 people already having booked their holiday at the resorts in Minehead, Bognor Regis and Skegness.

Haven too, which has 35 parks around the UK, is expecting to pull in the crowds as families opt for a “staycation”.

And both companies are helping people afford a break with some great discounts and offers.

I’m not surprised the parks are still a big hit. Kids absolutely love them because there is so much organised fun, which takes the pressure off parents.

If the kids are happy, everyone is happy. My husband and I took our four children to a park in Great Yarmouth years ago and they still talk about it being one of the “best holidays ever”.

Kids’ clubs, pools, live entertainment and shows and food whenever you want it – you can’t go wrong.

Great offers to help families feeling the pinch

It’s an exciting year for Butlins with the opening of its third hotel at Bognor Regis in June. The £25m Wave – next to the Ocean and Shoreline hotels will have 215 family bedrooms and 29 spacious apartments.

It would be great to see one in Skegness (Lincolnshire being my home county) and Minehead in Somerset, near the stunning Exmoor National Park.

Butlins is helping families feeling the pinch with three great offers.

Those with pre-school kids can get half-price four and seven-night breaks and a third off weekends during school term time. Prices from £178.

If you have children at school, you can still get a third off weekends, four and seven-night holidays with prices for four people for four nights from £363.

Book by January 31 and select a dining plan and your children will eat for FREE. (One child free with every full-paying adult).

See www.butlins.com or call 0845 070 4730.

Haven is also attracting early bookings by slashing thousands of prices with a three or four-night spring break from £149 and a seven-night summer holiday from under £500 – and that’s for up to six people.

MD John Dunford said:Feedback from customers suggests the top priority for Mums and Dads is a holiday where the family can spend time together away from the stresses of everyday life in a safe and secure environment.”
